Aerial 1 below shows the surrounding area during the Fall of 2002. The Club is located in the center of the picture where the lakes and spruce trees are visible.

Aerial #1- Looking East

Aerial 2 shows that the Club is almost entirely surrounded by hardwood forest, with pasture areas at higher elevations. The pasture areas in the background of this image lay between 1,200' and 1,260' above sea level, while the Club is located at 950'.

Aerial #2- Looking West

The following USGS topographical map is contained on two separate quadrangles- Brinkhaven and Spring Mountain. If you would like to download a copy of the map in a higher resolution, please click here. Please note that topo is displayed in 20-foot increments, and the image measures approximately 2.5 miles by 2.5 miles.

"Aerial 1" and "Aerial 2" depicted on the map above show the location that both pictures were taken. As you can probably see, five separate valleys funnel deer into our valley, and our valley contains a year round source of water, cover, and food. Wolf Creek never freezes (and rarely develops shelf ice) and maintains 40 degree plus water throughout most of the winter.

As you can see from the photographs above, we have ideal habitat for growing big bucks. Click here to learn more about deer habitat and why some areas produce bigger animals than others.
