What's New?

I've really worked hard to make these new changes to my site. Each page now has a DHTML menu in the upper left-hand corner; this menu can be updated with the greatest of ease, and it's made the updating process so much easier. I've added a Recommendations page that contains a list of books and movies I recommend for education or coping purposes. I've also split my Useful Links page into two pages: Useful Links and Search Engines. I've also renamed my Give Me Feedback page to Connect with Me, a name that parallels my Connect with Others page. In addition to these major changes, I've slightly altered the color of the text of each page. It's a subtle difference, but I really like the new color better than the old.

I've added a couple of things to my site without listing the changes on this page. Now, I'm trying to remember what I've changed so I can post the changes here... Whoops. I know some time ago, I added a Shopping Center; here, you can order CD-Rs of documentaries I've taped digitally. Most recently (today, actually!), I've added the WTCGID Psych Center. I've actually created a help document that functions as a small encyclopedia of psychology-related knowledge. It's still small, so I need your help to make it better. I'm actually very proud of it since I had to design the help file as well as the handy-dandy installer myself. Please tell me what you think of it!

It's nice having time off from school. I've added a new page today: Stigma and Shame. Let me know what you think! Also, I've made my Give Me Feedback page into a page where visitors can email me and give me feedback; to connect with others, visit my new Connect with Others page.

I've completely remodeled the Useful Links page. I've added many, many more links to help those of you who seek more information, and I've organized these links into the following sections: Depression, Self-Injury, Suicide, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety and Panic Disorders. I know you'll find these links very helpful; these links were found after I did quite a big search on web. I've also added an AIM Remote to my Give Me Feedback page. Click its different parts to IM me, add me to your Buddy List, or email me. If you don't have AIM yet, which is free, there's a link to download the latest version right on the remote as well. Enjoy!

Call me fickle, rightfully so, but I've once again removed HumanClick from my site. HumanClick just isn't what it used to be; Bravenet.com took away some of the free features HumanClick used to offer. Now, there's not really much left, so I'm again abandoning it. Sorry, everyone. However, I do indeed have a new AOL Instant Messenger name if you'd like to contact me that way. My AIM name is Ronnie H Sawyer, so don't be shy-- say hi! If you don't have AIM, I suggest you download it. It is completely free; you just have to put up with the occasional annoying solicitation to join AOL... Like you don't get those already. :P And it's easy to remove the stupid ads at the top of AIM; just delete the advert.ocm file, make a copy of the admin.ocm file, and rename the copy to advert.ocm. That way, you won't have any more ads. Download AIM at www.aol.com.

I've finally switched servers! Our family has high-speed internet access now, so we've dropped America Online and are hosting my site on the high speed company's server. Boy, does this fast hookup work well! For $5 more a month, we connect at 2 MB/sec. If that number means nothing to you, know that a typical 56k modem, like most people use for AOL and other dial-up connections, stands for 56,000 bytes of data per second. 2 MB means 2,000,000 bytes of data per second. VERY fast! Once, I even clocked our connection at 7 MB/sec. Amazing stuff! So anyways, please forgive me for any broken links on my site while I work all the kinks out. Thanks!

I've added two minor things to this site. First, HumanClick is back for those of you who remember it being on my site many moons ago. It's a way to contact me live, in real-time. Just look for the HumanClick icon, check to see if my status is online or offline, and chat with me if I'm available. The HumanClick icons can be found on the Disclaimer, Main Index, and Give Me Feedback pages. Second, bravenet.com has introduced a new feature called a GuestMap. It's a cool interactive map that can be found on my Give Me Feedback page. If you click its link, you'll see a map of the world. Zoom in or out and look around to see where in the world WTCGID visitors live. Add your own location to the map in the form of a virtual pushpin! I think it's pretty cool, and I hope you all find it interesting too. Enjoy the new features, everyone.

I removed my Connections page because I felt it was unnecessary and not helpful. I replaced it with a new page, My Breakdown. It's a very, very detailed account of a battle with mental illness I fought in the summer of 2000. It's also worth noting that www.bravenet.com, the site through which I get my feedback features, is currently experiencing technical difficulties, so certain elements of my site provided by Bravenet are temporarily not functioning properly. Counters, guestbooks, polls, etc. will hopefully be back up soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I added the full mp3 of Love Spit Love's "Am I Wrong?" to the Main Index. It's an awesome song, so download, and enjoy.

Check out my brand-new page, A Call To Action!: my Christian Manifesto. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Since the 11th, I've added two new features to my site. One is on my Give Me Feedback page, and the other can be found at my Useful Links page. First, at my Feedback page, you can join my mailing list by entering your email address in the provided box and selecting "Subscribe." Second, at the Links page, you can now perform a search of the web directly from my site. I customized a Bravenet Super Search just for visitors seeking more information. Simply type in keywords for which you'd like to find additional material, such as self-injury or depression, and hit "Find it!" You'll see the cute, customized results page I made. :) Have fun using the new features!

A few days ago, I was very frustrated and upset to learn that MyComputer.com, which provided my site with a free guestbook, counters, polls, message board, stats tracker, and more, decided to stop offering these services for free. They now charge for everything, which means I'd have to pay $308 a year to continue using their service. This move turned out to be a blessing in disguise! I'm now using Bravenet.com for my website needs! Check out all of the new features Bravenet.com provides on my Give Me Feedback page! There, you'll find an improved poll, an improved message board, a brand new Java-based chat room, a brand new way to talk to me LIVE (not just for AOL members!), and a tool to tell your friends about my site. In addition to the new interactive features, I have a new guestbook and counters. Hope you enjoy the changes I've made!

Today, I created two new pages. Both can be found at my Self-Injury page. The first is my Celebrities Who Have Self-Injured page. Once there, you'll read about the lives of famous people who have self-injured in the past. My second new page is A Typical Cutting Session. On this page, I describe what a typical cutting session is like. The purpose? To educate outsiders about what self-injury is really like. Very, very triggering, so please be careful. Enjoy the new pages!

After my lovely vacation in Florida, I've made a couple of changes to my website. First, I hope you noticed the new background on all of my pages. Secondly, I changed my menu graphic on my main page to include the Who Am I? page and my brand new Someone Cares page. Visit both pages and tell me what you think!

*11-14-00*

I've added the Who Am I? page, a place to find out more about me. Check it out!

*10-17-00*

I added the cute "Random Quotes" section to my main page, and I finally finished (and posted) my long-awaited Connections page. Enjoy!

*8-13-00*

I added a few fairly uninteresting, but helpful things to my site as of today. There are now banners at the top of my Disclaimer page and this site's Main Index. Every time you click on one of those banners, I get $.10. So click away, my friends! I put a lot of time and effort into making/maintaining this site, so adding a sponsor (iClicks) seemed like the way to go. A dime a click isn't bad! :) Also, I added a little thing called a "GeoButton" to my Main Index that tracks where all of my visitors come from geographically. It's interesting to see where in the world my viewers are checking out my site from. Next, I added a Message Board to my site so visitors can communicate with each other. Finally, I joined a Banner Exchange program to, hopefully, increase the amount of visitors to my site. Speaking of visiting my site, SEND ME YOUR STORIES! I am in dire need of submissions for my In Your Words page. Come on, help me out! That's all for now.

*8-09-00*

There are a few things different with my site since my last update. I used Javascript to create the handy little navigation menu at the bottom of each page. Takes up a lot less space than the awkward HTML navigation menu it replaced! I also have added a new page: In Your Words. It's a page where visitors to this site can share their stories of struggles and successes. It's new and needs some inspirational recovery stories, so feel free to visit the page and share your tale.

*8-06-00*

First of all, I changed my graphics from bitmaps to GIFs so my page loads in much less time. Then, I added a MIDI file to the Main Index page for my page's "official" theme song: "Am I Wrong?" by Love Spit Love. On the same subject, lyrics to this tune and a short sound clip are now available. Finally, I added a page with instructions on how to link to my website. You'll find this information on my Feedback page.

*8-04-00*

I added a section on panic attacks to my Anxiety page. I'm now accepting emails at this time, so feel free to visit my Feedback page for more information.

*7-02-00*

Here are a few changes you might be interested in: I added a few nifty features to my page thanks to mycomputer.com, like the cute little greeting you see when you visit the Main Index and the Polls from the Feedback page. Also new to the Feedback page are options to locate me or come to my private chat room (AOL members only).
