Welcome to the online home of Team Conspiracy, an adventure racing team that used to be based in the Chicago area, but now we are spread out across the country.

The latest news: Team Conspiracy qualifies for the adventure racing national championships for the first time!  A third place performance in the Odyssey One Day Extreme in North Georgia in February earned us the qualifying berth.

What is adventure racing? A team competition in multiple sports, such as trail running, mountain biking, paddling, navigation, rock climbing, and more. The course for an adventure race is rarely marked and team members need to stay together at all times. An adventure race can last anywhere from a few hours to several days.

Team Philosophy: our goals in a race are to tell jokes, eat strange foods, sing songs, get dirty, have fun, shriek with glee, and push ourselves to the best possible finish.

We’re more of a network or squad than a dedicated team of four people. As you can see from the Races page, the team makeup varies race to race. We’re always eager to meet, train, and race with new people, so drop us a line! See the Team Members page for contact info.

Why are we called Team Conspiracy? Because:

a)      Webster’s second definition of “conspire” is: to act or work together toward the same goal.

b)     “The Man” is always conspiring to get us down and keep us from finishing races.

c)      We don’t have a marquee sponsor.

d)     It’s what Marc named the team for our first race.
