Good working conditions?

Work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. May work a day shift or a night shift in some funeral homes. They work an average of 48-52 hours per week.

Perform the process of "embalming" ( pumping diluted formaldehyde into the body for purposes of preservation, disinfecting, and restoration). The average body requires two to three gallons of embalming fluid

Often bodies arrive somewhat desiccated, and a little "plumping up".
Cosmetic touchups are often necessary: " shampooing"
Possibility of infection - if the proper preventive measures are not taken.
Clients are grieving, crying & generally upset.
Embarrassed when asked "what you do for a living"
