What you probably haven't heard is just what it is that is so special about the special Vaccine Court. This 'liability trial' did not occur in a traditional court of law. There was no jury. There was also no discovery phase, where the plaintiffs had access to defendants' documents. Instead congressionally-created judges appointed by the US Court of Federal Claims and referred to as Special Masters decided the outcome. Almost all of the major autism support organizations take issue with this ruling.
National Autism Association - "Parents and advocates label Vaccine Court rulings insincere and politically driven." Safeminds - "The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the defendant in vaccine injury cases and is also responsible for carrying out the very vaccine safety research that should be integral to court decisions. This conflict of interest means the deck is stacked against families." Autism Speaks - "These latest rulings are limited, and do not mitigate the need for further scientific investigation … there are lingering legitimate questions about the safety of vaccines that must be addressed."
You probably also haven't heard about Bailey Banks, the boy whose parents won their vaccine court case in June 2007 (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr-and-david-kirby/vaccine-court-autism-deba_b_169673.html). “The Court found that Bailey would not have suffered this delay but for the administration of the MMR vaccine…a proximate sequence of cause and effect leading inexorably from vaccination to PDD [Autism].”

Myth: Thimerosal is no longer present in vaccines. It was removed in 1999. Fact: Thimerosal as of this writing (June 09) is still present in highly toxic concentrations (25 mcg per dose) in flu shots which are now recommended for, among other people, pregnant women and infants (http://www.fda.gov/cber/vaccine/thimerosal.htm#t1 ). And a recent CNN report estimates that only six percent of flu shots have less than a trace amount of thimerosal (http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/10/31/flu.hm.flu.shot/index.html).

and you will see that evidence abounds that mercury and other heavy metals will
induce mitochondrial damage.
