This indenture Made this twenty sixth. day of January in the Year
of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred & ninety three between Daniel Woods
of the one party of the County of Rowan, - and State of N, Carolina of the
one party and David Lookbill of the other part and County and State afore
Said witness that for and in Consideration of the sum of Seven pound
in hands paid by the Said David Lookbill to the Said Daniel Wood at &
before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the Receipt and payment
hereof is acknowledged hath Granted bargained and Sold Eleened Enfeofed Conveyed
and confirmed and by these
presents doth Grand bargain Sell Elien Enfeof Convey and confirm unto the
said David Lookbill his heirs & Assigns forever all that piece or parsel
of land situate lying and being in the Count of Rowan, On Sandy creek begining
at a Hickory Standing near the bank of Sandy Creek running thence North 70
Degrees west chains to a Stake thence South 20 degrees East fifty links A
Stake thence South 78 Degrees West 6 Chains to A Stake thence North 20 Degrees
East Seven Chains and fifty Links to a small Maypole on the edge of the swamp
thence South 73 Degrees East Eight Chains and fifty Links to A Gum on the
old Line thence South to the begining Containing five Acres of Land Granted
to Said Daniel Wood by Margaret Gosley a deed of Conveyance bearing date
this 12 Day of August in the Year one Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty
four to have and to hold the Said land tenements hariditiment premises here
by Granted
with this Apireneces to the said David Lookabell his Heirs and assigns
to the only proper use and behoof of him the said David Lookabell his
heirs and assigns forever and the said Daniel Wood for himself his heirs
Ex Admrís doth here by promise covenant and agree to & with
the Said David Lookabell his _________ that the said Daniel Wood
his heirs Ex Admírs or Assigns Shall and will at all times warrant
& forever Defend The Said premises to said David Lookbell his heirs assigns
against all Lawful Claims demands whatsoever whereby the above
mentioned premises might or may affected or incombrerd Concontrary
to the true intent and leaning of the a presents provided all ways that the
said Lookbell doth bind himself his heirs Ex Adm,rs to pay to the-
state of N, Carolina Yearly or Every Year from time to time or other wise
all Such Sum or sums of Money as shall be come due for the above mentioned
5 acres of Land as above described in witness of the whereof the Said
Daniel Wood here unto Set my hand and affixed my Seal .the day and Year above

This indenture made this sixteenth day of may and in the year of our lord
one thousand eight
hundred and six between Henry Lukenbill of the one part and Christian Lukenbill
of the other part
both of the County of Rowan and the State of North Carolina Witnesseth that
for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds lawful money of the State aforesaid
in land paid by
the said Christian Lukenbill to the said Henry Lukenbill the receipt and
payment thereof by the said
Henry Lukenbill doth hereby acknowledge having granted bargained sold released
and confirmed
And by these presents doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the
said Christian
Lukenbill and to his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land it being
the one half a tract of Land
the said Henry and Christian Lukenbill purchased of Colonial John Lapp lying
and being in the County
and State aforesaid on a branch of Pounders Fork being part of a tract formerly
belonging to
Henry ?(Eastace)? McCullohs and one by the same Number ?(Nine)? Beginning
at an Oak running thence
160 poles to north East at 180 poles to rejoing Pounders Fork in all 200
poles to a small Spanish Oak thence
East one hundred and sixty poles to a white Oak thence South 200 poles therebeing
to a stake
thence 160 poles to the beginning which land the said Henry Lukenbill had
lawful authority to grant
and convey the one half of said tract by virtue of a deed made unto the said
Henry and Christian
Lukenbill reference had thereunto will more fully appear to have and hold
the afore granted half
of the two hundred acres of land which is one hundred acres with the Apparatuses
and all rights
and privileges and improvements in any ways to the same belonging to the
said Christian Lukenbill
to his heirs and assigns forever and the said Christian Lukenbill doth for
himself his heirs and
assigns warrant and forever defend and the said Henry Lukenbill doth hereby
covenant and agree
to and with the said Christian Lukenbill that he the said Christian Lukenbill
his heirs and assigns
shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly occupy have and hold
and possess and enjoy
the afore granted land premises without the least hindrance or molestation
of any person whatsoever
and free and clear from all and all manner of imcumberances and the said
Henry Lukenbill doth
oblige himself his heirs Executors and assigns to warrant and forever defend
the aforesaid granted
land and premises to the said Christian Lukenbill to his heirs and assigns
forever against the lawful
claim of any or persons whatsoever in witness where of the said Henry Lukenbill
hath hereunto sat his hand
and seal the day and year first above written.

This indenture made the 29th day of January in the third year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the Third, Ye Ye between Henry McCulloh of Turnham Green of the one part and John Lucapeen of Rowan County in the province of North Carolina of the other part witnesseth that whereas his most excellent Majesty King George the second by sundry grants dated the third of March AD 1745 gave and granted unto the said Henry McCulloh eight tracts of land in North Carolina containing twelve thousand five hundred acres each lying upon the Yadkin or Pedee river and the branches thereof and making together one hundred thousand acres of land commonly called or known by the name of Tract No. Nine with all rights and privileges ye as in page 21st line 11th of Deed No. One to the following words: Now this indenture witnesseth that as well for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds sterling in hand paid by the said John Lucapeen to the said Henry McCulloh the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and also for and in consideration of the rents, covenants, provisions and agreements herein after mentioned to be done and performed by and on the part of the said John Lucapeen, his heirs and assigns, the said Henry McCulloh hath for himself and his heirs given, granted, bargained, sold, and confirmed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm to the said Lucapeen, his heirs and assigns forever all that piece and parcel of land lying and being in the county of Rowan in the province of North Carolina in America being part of the said one hundred thousand acres of land commonly called or known by the name of the Tract No. Nine : Beginning at a white oak running thence north at 100 poles crossing Pounderís Fork in all 200 poles to a small spanish oak thence east 160 poles to a white oak thence south 200 poles crossing the creek to a stake thence west 160 poles to the beginning and containing in the whole 200 acres of land all which premises are now particularly divided and set forth in the plan or map thereof hereunto annexed with all rights and privileges of hunting, hawking, fishing, and fowling with all woods, waters, and rivers with all profits, commodities, or hereditaments to the same belonging or appertaining to have and to hold to him the said John Lucapeen, his heirs and assigns forever except that in case any mine shall be found upon the said lands, one half the gold and silver ore and of all other mines and minerals whatsoever be reserved for the use of the said Henry McCulloh, his heirs and assigns and the said John Lucapeen for himself, his heirs and assigns and for each and every one of them doth hereby covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Henry McCulloh, his heirs and assigns and in the said Deed No. One to the end.
Be it remembered that by virtue of a letter of attorney under the hand and seal of the said Henry McCulloh, Henry Eustace McCulloh, Esq. did in the name of the said Henry McCulloh sign and subscribe this grant and then seal and deliver the same as his the said Henry McCullohís act and deed.

The within written indenture of bargain and sale from Henry McCulloh to John Lucapeen was duly registered in the Quit Rent office of the Right Honorable John Earl Granville on the 7th day of April 1763 pursuant to an agreement made between his Lordship and the said Henry McCulloh bearing date April 17th, 1761.
