John Doty Deed 14 November 1787 Rowan Co. NC Bk12-pg 137/8

This Indenture made the Fourteeth day of November in the year of our Lord 1787 Between John Dotty & Hannah his wife of the County of Rowan and the state of North Carolina Farmer of the one part & Moses Dotty & Barbry his wife of the county and state Afore, Farmer of the other part witnessth that for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty
Pounds current money of the state afore to the said John Dotty & his wife in hand paid by the said Moses Dotty at &before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowleged & hath granted bargained sold Alien  Enfeoffed Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents doth Grand bargain  sell Alien Enfeoff Convey and Confirmed unto the said Moses Dottey his heirs & Asigns forever acuetain the tract or parcel of land situate lying on the south side of the Yadkin river beginning at a hickory near Jones landing. running thince South thirty chains to a white Oak, thince East twenty chains to a white Oak, thince North twenty five chains to abeach on the bank of the river. thince down the various courses of the River to the first station containing by estimation forty five acres be the same more or less it being the same land which was conveyed to James Turner by a Deed of sale from John Hunt ?ucadis & his wife Dated the 13th July 1763 of Record ? C??? together with every right title priviledge Emolent to the said lands belonging or in anyway asesertaining to him the said Moses Dotty an Barbara his wife & their heirs and assigns forever free and clear from every or any Incumberness and claims whatsoever of these. The said  John Dotty & Hannah his wife their heirs or assigns or any other person whatsoever laying any demand or claims to the said land or promise or any profits or claim to the same & the said John Dotty warint and defend the same to the said Moses Dotty In Witness whereof the said John Dotty & Hannah his wife hath here unto set his hand & seal this Day & Date above written.

Moses Doty to John Baxter Deed 20 Oct. 1791     Rowan County NC  Bk12-pgs_546-547

North Carolina
           This Indenture made the 20th day of October in the year of our lord 1791 Between Moses Doty and Barbary his wife of the county of Rowan and the state of North Carolina farmer of the one part, and John Baxter of the county & State afore farmer  of the other part witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the sum of twenty pounds current money to the said Moses Doty & his wife in hand paid by the said John Baxter at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents to the receipt  & payment whereof is hereby ack...d hath granted bargained & sold  aliened enfeoffed conveyed & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell acertain piece or parcel of land Situate lying and being on the South side of the Yadkin river beginning at a hickory near Joneses landing runing from there South thirty chains to a white Oak, thince East twenty chains to a white Oak, thince North twenty five chains to a beach on the bank of the river. Thince down the Various Courses of the said river to the first Station Containing by Estimation Forty Five Acres be the same more or less & being the same land which was conveyed to the said Moses Dotey by a Deed of Conveyance from John Doty and his wife Dated the 14th day of November in the year of our lord 1787 of record.  Together with every right title privledge & Emolent to the said land lumbering or any use appertaining to him the said John Baxter his heirs & Assigns forever free & Clear from any or every Incumbrance & claim whatsoever of them the said Moses Doty & Barbara his wife their heirs or assigns or any other person whatsoever laying any Demand or Claim to the said land or primises any profits or claims to the same the said Moses Dotey shall forever warrant & defend the same to the said John Baxter in writing whereof the said Moses Dotey & Barbara his wife hath hereunto set their hands & Seals this day & date above written.

John Doty to Michael Doty 7 Oct 1795  Rowan Co. NC Bk14-pgs 385-386

This Indenture made the 7th day of October & in the year of our lord 1795 between John Doty of Rowan County & North Carolina of the one part. Michael Doty his son of the County & State aforward to the other part Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pounds paid unto the said John Dotty inhand before the Deliverary & Sealing these presents this receipt of which I do hearby acknowledge myself satisfied and paid. I therefore acquit & Discharge to the said Michael Dotty his heirs & assigns & every of them by these presents. I do grant to said Michael Doty his heirs & Assigns the tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Rowan on the waters of the Yadkin known by the name of the Schoolhouse branch beginning at a stake on Edward Turners farm line running along his line & past his corner south 40 chains to a stake thince East twenty five chains to a stake thince North Forty chains to a stake thince West twenty five chains to beginning. It being one hundred acres be the same more or less and all the Estate, right, title, interest, claim & demand whatsoever of the said John Dotty in & unto the promises aforesaid To Have and to Hold to the said Michael Dotty his heirs and Assigns to peaceable profits & enjoy the said premises together with all woods, water, mines, minerals hereitaments & appurtenances to only proper use & benefit of the said Michael Dottey his heirs and assigns and by these presents I do hereby warrant and defend any person or persons
from laying any lawful right or tittle there unto forever. and the same be free & Clear of all incumbrances whatsoever In testimony where of I have set my hand and hereunto affixed my seal, this day & date from above written.

Andrew Swicegood & Snider, Broadway, Doty, Everheart  10-Aug-1822  Rowan County NC Deeds  Bk27-pg153 to 155

This Indenture made the 10th day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred twenty two Between Adam Snider and Christine his wife, William Broadway and Elizabeth his wife,  Michael Doty and Catherine his wife, Philip Everheart and Magdaline his wife of the one part, and Andrew Swicegood the other part Witnesseth that
for and consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars in hand paid by the said Andrew Swicegood at and before the signing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment where of we do hereby acknowledge hath Granted bargained sold Aliened  Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain,sell,alien Enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said Andrew Swicegood his heirs and assigns forever all and every of our distributive shares of that piece or parcel of land situated in the county of Rowan on the East side of the Yadkin river at the mouth of Holeman creek beginning at a Beach formerly John Woods corner on the river bank, thince East twenty one chains to a stake, thince South fifty eight chains to a hickory, thince West thirteen chains to a black oak, thince North seventy five degrees, West fifty four chains to a stake, thince West seven chains and fifty links to a heap of stones, thince North twenty six degrees West to a heap of stones, thince North twenty three chains and fifty links to an ash on the
river bank, thince up the river as it meanders to the beginning Containing by computation three hundred acres be the same more or less with this reserve that is to say all that part of the above mentioned lines that were conveyed by John Lookinbie out of the above premises to John Philips and which appears of record To Have and to Hold the above mentioned premises with all ways, woods, waters, and every other Appurtenance there unto belonging or appertaining to the Owner proper use and behoof of the said Andrew Swicegood his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple and we for ourselves, our heirs, executors and adminastrators do herby covenant and promise to and with the said Andrew Swicegood his heirs and  assigns that we by ourselves our heirs executors and administrators shall and will at all times warrant and  forever defend the above mentioned primises free from all lawful claim of any person whatsoever whereby the above premises may or might be affected or incumbered contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents In Witness where of we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year above written.

John & Sophia Doty to John Lookinbee deed 15 Feb 1842

This Indenture made on the 15th Day of February one thousand eight hundred and forty two, between John Doty and his wife Sophia Doty of the county and State aforesaid of the one part and John Lookabee of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Doty and his wife Sophia for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars to them in hand paid by the said John Lookabee at the time of executing these presents the receipts where of is hereby acknowledges hath granted bargained sold conveyed aliened and confirmed unto the said John Lookabee his heirs and assigns a certain parcel or part of a tract of land in the county and state aforesaid situate on the waters of Holmans Creek adjoining the lands of Michael Swain, Ivan Nelson and others containing twenty two and a half acres be the same or less being the ninth parts of the tracts which David Lookabee senr. has conveyed to his grandchildren by deed of gift which will appear by having reference to the record.  The heirs of John Lookabee the son of said David Lookabee making nine in number beginning with, Andrew Lookabee, John Lookabee, Adam Lookabee, David Lookabee, Rowan Lookabee, Mary Lookabee, Sophia Lookabee, Margaret Lookabee, Catherine Lookabee of the county & state. Grandsons and daughters of the said David Lookabee senr. and to have and to hold the said piece or part of land and all singular the tenements heriditments woods ways waters and improvements privileges and appertinances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to them the said John Doty and Sophia his wife their heirs and assigns to him the said John Lookabee his heirs and assigns to his own use and be hoof forever and the said John Doty and Sophia his wife and their heirs all and singular the promises here by conveyed to the said John Lookabee his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant & forever defend from lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever in testimony where of the said John Doty and Sophia his wife doth hereunto set their hands and seals the date above written signed sealed and delivered in the presents of

Pinkston Esq. one of the courts by order of court proceeded to take the private examination of the said separate and apart from her husband and the said M. Pinkston reported to court that he had taken the private examination of said Sophia and that there in that she executed the written deed freely and voluntarily and without the fear or confusion of her husband and that she then did and now doth freely assent to the same and it was worded and ordered to be registered
