Vote for the new SFCR Logo! Its All About the Music/Listen! Featured Artists Contact Info

Ok, time to get serious.

Updated Feb 27, 2006

Its 2006 already and I havn't gotten anywhere on this project. Its time I put a little effort into it and let you know that SFCR is still alive, although on life support at the moment.

I have to admit this hasn't gone quite as I've envisioned it. I have a huge list of ideas to put into this once I get time and regrettably, financial resources.

See, ever since Congress (opposite of Progress) passed the stupid WIPO treaty, SFCR has been on the back burner because greedy corporate giants run by the RIAA {hiss!} have sucked all the fun out of doing anything with music on the internet.

Live365.com had to start charging fees to broadcast where it had been free before, so due to getting divorced, and thank God re-married to the love of my life, combining households and other family projects too numerous to mention, I couldn't keep up with it and decided to let it ride on its own for what has turned out to be several years now.

But thanks to a couple of recent artists who have taken their chances by sending me promo CDs, and the success of Google, the fire of Southern Fried Country Rock has been re-ignited!

<----
To try to recoup some of the revenue involved in running SFCR, I'm adding Google ads to this page. Please take a second and click on my sponsors web links, even if you're not interested in buying anything. Your support of their sites keeps costs down for me, and allows you to hear some great new music at the same time. You can't beat that with a stick.
<----

After a few months of trial & error to see how the ads perform I'll get my subscription to Live365 caught up and maybe by this summer we'll be back with some fresh tracks!

I hate to admit that I am so out of touch with the changes at Live365 that I can't even tell you how to use WinAmp or whatever to listen to SFCR anymore. To figure that out you'll need to go to http://www.live365.com to find out. I think they now prefer that you use their own software so be prepared to have to download whatever they are recommending these days.

Vote for the new LOGO!

After all these years I have finally created the long-awaited "Killer SFCR Logo" I promised back in 1999! In fact, I have 3 (count-em, THREE!) killer logos. Two are unique and one is a variation of one of the others. I can't decide which one I like best, so I'm asking for your help! Please take the Poll below and let me know which one of these two you like better. The winner will be the official new Killer SFCR Logo!

Once the winner has been chosen, I will set out to totally redesign this page and incorporate the new SFCR "Stars & Guitars" ™ theme into it.

Its all about the Music...

While this is predominantly a country music station, with an emphasis on outlaw-type country, you will also find a wide variety of other music here, including classic rock and blues.

Here are some of the artists you might find here at SFCR:

Waylon & Willie, Travis & Marty, Dwight Yoakam, The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr, Alabama, The Mavericks, Montana Rose, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Vince Gill, R.E.M., Blind Faith, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ZZ Top, John Anderson, Lonestar, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica (yes, Metallica! they did an acoustic cover of Tuesday's Gone which is awesome!) Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Kim Richey, Radney Foster, Patty Loveless, The Backsliders, Emmerson-Lake-Palmer, Crosby-Stills-Nash, Gary Allan, Matraca Berg, Poco, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, Tracy Byrd, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, The Eagles, Gotham Rose, The Frank Pilgrim Band, The Scrimshanders, and the list goes on...
