Day 3 - Both Heads Are Off
Yes, the pulley must come off. Used the "Murrays's Loaner Tool Program" to get a puller / installer (Thanks for the offer Ron but the drive was too far). It took a little persuasion and a big pipe to get the pulley to come off.

The bracket is finally free from the head.

They say liquids always seek their own level. The theory must apply to all liquids except engine coolant. As soon as I started removing the lower head bolts the coolant began flowing. It didn't matter where the drain pan was, it missed it. The last bolt drained directly into the H pipe. I couldn't have poured it in there better with a funnel. I'm sure that will smoke a bit when it starts up.

Side two is now off. Let the cleaning begin!
Now to take some time and clean up the block and organize the garage a little.
