ACTIVITIES

Our club participates in several activities throughout the month.  When several members share a common interest, an activity group may be formed. Each activity group will be open to all members. Activity groups may change as a members interests change.  A member may participate in as many or as few activities as they wish.  Here is a list of current activities/activity groups.

Business Meetings: Once a month we meet to discuss club business and go over the calendar and activities for the coming month.  We also try to end with a topic discussion or a scheduled speaker.  Our meeting takes place on the second Thursday of each month.

Playgroups: We currently have three playgroups and a group wide playgroup each month..  We get together at someone’s home and let the children have peer play while we have peer conversation. Can meet monthly in members homes or at local parks.

Park Days: We will meet each month at a local park or mall for group wide play time.

Moms Night Out: Once a month, moms get together for dinner, movies, socialization or other activities.  We typically meet the next to last week of the month and rotate days.

Lunch Bunch:  A monthly outing to a kid friendly location.  Past locations include:  Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's, and Roadhouse.

Breakfast Club:  A monthly outing to give us a morning "pick-up."  Past locations include:  Tim Hortons, Nora's, Cracker Barrel, and Members' Homes.

Field Trips: We try to plan one field trip each month. Past activities include: The Columbus Zoo, COSI, McDonald's at Easton, Circle S Farms, etc.

We will try to keep the cost to a minimum.

Guest Speakers: We can enjoy guest speakers that visit us and teach us a valuable parenting or safety skill, or even just a new craft! Past speakers include:  students from Columbus State speaking on Good Dental Health, Be Poison Smart! Program, and Swim Safety/Information.

Service Projects: Each year our chapter will adopt a service projects and we fund raise and try to make a difference for our chosen charity. Our service projects are a very important part of MOMS Club^®  and we are so happy to be making a difference in our community! For 2003 we collected items to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

Other Possible Future Activities: Baby Time, Kids Craft Day, Children’s Birthday Day, Walking Group/Stroller Walk, Fun Days, Scrap Book Club, Coupon Exchange, Coffee Club, Book Club, Book Library, Video Library , Secret Sisters, Discussion Group, Babysitting Co-Op
