GPS Golf Maps

The golf course maps show up on the GPS display as a gray rectangle. The detail of the fairways will only show up when the following conditions are met:
  1. The GPS position has to be inside the gray outline of the golf course.
  2. *or* The panning cursur is inside the gray outline of the golf course.
  3. *and* The map scale has to be set to 500 ft. or less.
Note that the sample display on the left has the zoom scale set to 120 ft. Your current position in the fairway is shown as a black triangle. To measure distance to the hole or to a hazard, use the " Pan " or " Measure Distance " functions. Move the white pointer to the flagstick or hazard and the yardage is shown at the top of the display. The yardage will update as you move down the fairway.
To release the "Pan" feature, press the "Page" button.
NOTE: ( How to Setup GPS Display )
This sample display has color added to visualize the difference between water hazards (black), fairways (dark gray), greens (light gray), and sand traps/trees (outlined white areas).

I bought a cigarette lighter plug with alligator clips at a boat shop and the optional Garmin external cable. I attach the GPS to the golfcart's battery so that it's always on for easy reference.
