QUOTE from page 3...First Paragraph
"For those of you out there keeping score, that makes Wlodarczyk's Trans Am the fastest F-body convertible in America."
(Well...
that was back in 2003), but I DID IT!!! That's what counts and not too many
people can claim that. Today there are plenty of 8 sec and faster cars, but back
then I was at the top.

Lethal Performance (www.streetlethalperformance.net) and Motown Muscle (www.motownmuscle.com)
filled a parking lot with mostly fourth-gen F-bodies to flank their plea to
Bob Lutz. Pretty cool. Even cooler is Daren Wlodarczyk’s ’96 Trans
Am convertible in the foreground. It’s fitted with a 398ci Agostino Racing
stroker LT1, and, well, it’s run a best of 9.763 at 138.49. We can’t
think of a more provocative example to support keeping the F-body around."

I did get a chance to race against one of the fastest F-bodies built to date at that time...Judson Massingill from the School of Automotive Machinists (SAM). His orange Camaro SS was leading the LS1 field in technology at the time. He took King Street, but I sure gave him a run till a mechanical problem (nitrous solenoid sticking) put me out of competition. More info can be found at www.samracing.com on the event or the links below. My car was a but faster 9 seconds with NOS, but his naturally aspirated LS1 was right there with my car. Shows how fast technology is catching up. It might be time to get rid of the LT1 engine and go with a LS1. :)
Here is a link to a picture of my car and an article in Popular Hot Rodding.

Picture of my car against Judson's Orange SS and info on the event. It would have been cool to see him hit 9's at the event. I didn't win the event, but I did make a 9 sec pass off the trailer and nobody else ran faster. :) Plus I got to race against the FASTEST and best drivers out there in our F-body field.
