Judy Skeel from Skeelhaven, had a challenge on Joggles.com using her pattern Beetle Babe. I must once again confess that I'm a very lucky person to live here in Columbus Ohio with this fabulous artist and a wealth of resources. Judy's studio is only 5 minutes from my house. I began to take lessons from Judy to learn basic doll making skills, because I admit it that I couldn't sew with a lick and forget even thinking I could read a pattern. She helped me through the whole process, even only laughing with me when I called one afternoon frantic asking her "what in the heck is a dart?" When I told Judy that I wanted the doll to do a hand stand on the back of the Beetle instead of riding him like the original pattern, she helped me come up with the perfect solution. I've called my rendition of Judy's Beetle Babe, Wool Gatherer, as she is the Fairy that collects the fluff from seedpods.
