When Pat Duchene from Doll Crafter and Costuming asked me to write an article about beaded dolls, I couldn't focus on what would excite traditional doll makers about beaded art dolls. I didn't want to just do an article devoted to beading on a stuffed doll form. Then my Supervisor gave me a bag of plastic beaded curtains. She was going to throw them out, but I'll take anything that can be used for an art project. At the time, I'd been playing around with wrapped dolls, and my worktable was covered with fabric faces, beads and fabric all in chaotic disarray. I found a place for the bag of plastic curtains, and suddenly everything just clicked. They were all meant to be little pod babies. My husband, Chris helped me with the graphics and was my proofreader for this article. The newsstand distribution is to Barnes & Noble and Borders. People can buy the single issue from
