Habitat for Humanity Gala 2004
The Big Band Express played on Sat, Oct 16, 2004 at the Dearborn Inn for the 2nd Annual Fund Raiser for
Habitat for Humanity.  We began playing an hour later this year at 8pm.  Everything about the this years event was organized and top notch.  We began the evening by playing dinner music for the first hour and a half.  Chuck Gaidica then spoke about Habitat which was followed by a Silent Auction.  Following the Silent Auction we played and there was dancing for the last hour or so.  The crowd was great to us and I must say I really enjoyed playing for this event.   I would do it in a heartbeat again.

   Habitat for Humanity Gala 2003

We played on Sat, Nov 22, 2003 a fund raiser for the Habitat for Humanity. This was the 1st annual fund raiser for Habitat, a very worthy cause.  Dinner was $150 dollars a plate or $250 for a couple. The featured speakers were Mort Crim formerly of Channel 4 and weatherman Chuck Gaidica.  Speaking for the band I enjoyed playing for the event very much.  Being a 1st year event the plan
for us changed throughout the evening.

Looking back I would have suggested to Habitat to have us play at 7pm instead of 6pm when there was no one in the mainball room. That way we could have played after the keynote speakers and there could have been some dancing until 11pm.  As it was when it got to 10pm, Habitat was not sure how much longer the auction would last.  Because of this uncertainty one person from Habitat said we could go but then another was wondering why we were leaving.  Knowing what we know now I would love our band and Habitat to have the opportunity to plan this better for next year.  Below is the 2003 program.
