I'm sure you have heard that "it is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness."  I definitely agree with that. Complaining about a problem doesn't do any good unless the complaint is followed by, "What can we do about it?"

But the problem of unwanted pets, unnecessary pet relinquishments, and needless euthanasia of animals that could have made wonderful pets with the right training is a big problem.  It is so big that it is easy to get overwhelmed.  Some people feel such a strong urge to make a difference, that they end up saying, "Look at all that darkness--my one candle isn't doing nearly enough to make things brighter!"  So they light more and more candles until they run the risk of burning their houses down.

I think the answer is to light that one candle and keep it lit.  Put it where everyone can see it, and it might remind other people to light candles too.

This website is my candle.
