Yes, those are Actual Miles !

Re-Wired Engine Control Completely (1st Winter 2003-2004)

As bought "Ugly and kind of functional motor" Pictures Here (Yes, The car is kind of Pink in the sun!) It's "Candy Maroon" to me.

Ripped out Accell DFI (obsolete in 92) and complete removal of 1986 engine harness and spark control. Used lots of red electrical tape, red sleeve material and red convoluted wire loom. My Full Schematic Here

Due to separate fueling and spark control not getting along above 3000 rpm, As well as NO factory support for the DFI controller (NONE!) Screw ACCELL and their support!. I don't care if the unit was made in 92' they should still be able to get me software to communicate and program it even if they don't support it actively. They acted like it was never made and I've heard they do this with all of thier products. Rich at Cruzin' Performance was able to help me out with a cable and found someone with software but the thing just wouldn't talk. He was even gracious enough to give me a refund on the cable cuz I couldn't make it work out right. One really helpful guy !

See the GORY details here:

New Control Configuration

Uses GM 1227730 Updated ECM with Completely custom made engine harness
Used AUJP memcal, (Typical 90-92' F-Body, 4 speed Auto) Programmed starting with S_AUJP bin from ThirdGen Board. A great beginning file with "normal" changes already made for you to make it easier to tune.
Removable VATS bypass box with programmed Anti-thfet routines and Valet usage parameters (My secret)
Programming performed using Craig Moates Autoprom (USB Version) with real time emulation (Really cool piece of hardware if you can afford one)
Craig Moates "G3" Switcher Prom adapter module for 16 program capability and 4 Mb EEPROM chip
Removable "switcher" Remote control with LED display mounted on the dash for easy access to adjustment
Editing and Datalogging using TunerPro RT from Mark Magnus (Great "Freeware" program, Real Time = $30 but it came with registered version with the purchase of the AutoProm)
Currently Documenting the AUJP source code for full/accurate source code for the ECM as well as I/O mapping to the code for future mask swaps from current $8D to $58 (Boosted applications) without repinning. Someday it WILL happen. Beginning to get a good grasp of the code operation and how to implement additional functions. Working with several people on the Third Gen board on creating the definition and communication files for use when implementing code changes. Lots of interesting fun, although time consuming. Good thing I don't need sleep.

Passed Emmisions check with flying colors on the first try !       I was very pleased with the results.

Modifications (2nd Winter 2004-2005)

World Products "Sportsman II" heads with Manly "Street-Flo" 2.02 intake, 1.60 Exhaust valves. 110 lb valve springs. Freshly rebuilt by me with new seals, hand lapped all valves into the seats to ensure good sealing after cleanning heads thoughly. Drilled the passages at 0.25 diameter in each head to enable the E.G.R. function. Painted good old Chevy orange (high temp) with silver brackets, and fan assembly.

I Ported the upper plenum and fully hand polished the top end of the intake and runner tubes. It turned out quite nice for a first time try at polishing. Super cleaned the base and clear coated it. Fuel rails polished and backfilled with "chrome Red" colored paint. Turned out really nice so I back filled the ribs on the top of the plenum and the distributor cover to match. Everything is turning red in there now :) Added chrome valve covers after the nice red centerbolt covers I painted would not fit the heads because I forgot to machine the perimiter mount bosses down before installing them. Oh well, chrome looks nice too.

Cleaned up the engine compartment and firewall. Painted glossy black.

Replaced the dirty jugs with new ones and put on new pedal pads from Mike's Montes.

Replaced the sagging headliner in the back with new "claret" material from Mike's. Looks good considering it was the first time I ever did a headliner the right way.

Installed brighter dash backlighting bulbs (they are really needed in these cars)

Put on the "Monte SS" trim lettering and Chevy symbols as stock would be.

Bought GTS Headlight covers (Because they look Cool !)

Bought 120 MPH Speedometer with 37K original miles on it, must wait till miles go up before installing.

Bought 3:73 Posi rear end "Drum to Drum" off guy in Detroit suburbs (drove there to get it, was a good deal)

MSD 6A Multiple Spark Discharge ignition controller,  50K Volts MSD Super Coil , installed with 8.5mm "SuperConductor" Wires held firmly in place with Taylor screw clamps.

Tuned like crazy and performance got much better. MSD solved my flooding when I hit "Limp" mode in ECM with bad chips. Figured to be better than 250 HP at wheels just couldn't prove it without going to the track.

Modifications (Summer 2005)

B.F. Goodrich T/A radials all around 235-60R-15 (largest all around size without rubbing)  Full alignment done

3:73 gears (Posi rear finally installed with Poly bushings (red of course)

Purchased Parts: (Shooting for mid 12's)

Polyurethane bushing set for the rear end links and springs
Obtained a set of rear lower control arms so I can "box" them in before installing bushings
New control arm mounting bolts and other hardware
"Iceman" Fischer G-body Double Hump Crossmember (header and 3" exhaust clearance, no way to do it without one) Painted with POR-15 Gloss Black
Full 3" true dual exhaust with "X" pipe crossover (Pypes Exhaust Here) with Street-Pro mufflers
DynoMax Full length headers (1-5/8" Primary w/ 3" collectors) Ceramic Coated and polished
30 lb/hr SVO Injectors from 3rd Gen Member (Sent to Rich at Cruzin Performance for full clean and match treatment)
Holley "Stealth Ram" intake and base from 3rd Gen Member. Fully polished by me :)   See Pics Here
BBK 52mm Throttle body, 1995 LT1 Version with LT-1 intake ceramic coated elbow
New TPS, IAC connectors/Pigtails bought from NAPA Online
Innovate LC-1 Wide Band Oxygen Sensor Controller and Bosch WB
Lots of exhaust collector parts and Wide Band O2 Bung parts to be welded in place
Spectre braided stainless hose covers and clamp set (figured I'd try it and see if it looks good)
Registered for my Collector Plates (No More E-Check Needed)
Milage finnaly at 37,000 so I can install the 120 MPH Spedometer at anytime now :)

Finally got the cam I was looking for 224/230 @ 112 LSA, 986 springs, 10 degree locks and retainers, Teflon seals, Comp high rev roller lifters, New stainless undercut stem valves.
Polished all of the exhaust ports on the heads smooth. Now all that is needed is to have the guide bosses machined down to 0.530 for the seals and ID of the seconds springs, the spring seats need to be touched for the 1.437 springs to sit flat (0.050 deep should do it)

Should look nice on the car. I might even put the front plate on :)

Hopefully I'll get all my new mods done before spring  :)
