This
document contains information necessary to set up access
to WideOpenWest Dial-up Services via Microsoft Windows
2000 Dial-up Networking. Neither WideOpenWest nor Microsoft
have sanctioned this document and neither are responsible
for its contents.
1.
To
start, go to the Start menu, select Settings,
Network and Dial-up Connections, and then
Make New Connection, as illustrated in
the graphic below.

You
will now be presented with the Connection wizard as
shown in the graphic below. Press Next.
3.
Select
Dial-up to the Internet and press Next.
4.
In
the next requestor, select I want to set up my
Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through
a local area network [LAN]. and press Next.
5.
In
the next requestor, select I connect through a
phone line and a modem, and press Next.

Enter
the area code and telephone number you dial to connect,
and, unless you need it, uncheck Dial using code and
dialing rules.
7.
This
is where you enter your WideOpenWest assigned email
name followed by @wideopenwest.com (example: johnsmith@wideopenwest.com)
and email password.
8.
Choose
a name for the connection and put it in the box as shown
below. You can name it anything you prefer.
Next
you will be asked to create an internet email account,
select No and press Next.
9.
The
configuration is now complete. Enjoy the WideOpenWest
Dial-up Service.
